History of the Rec-Tech Family

Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions is a family owned outdoor equipment business that was established in 2017 in Plato, MN. Though it was officially established in 2017, the base of the business started with snowplow sales in 2014 when Kevin Eiden, and his son, Scott Eiden, began to sell SnowDogg snowplows through Kevin’s auto repair shop, Pro Auto Repair NYA, in Norwood, MN. Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions initially started in addition to Kevin and Scott both running their own separate businesses. Scott owned and operated Rec-Tech Outdoors, a lake equipment sales and service business since 2012 while Kevin operated Pro Auto Repair NYA since 1994.

Kevin and Scott’s first year of snowplow sales, installation and repair was successful, so the following year they added a full line of Western Snow Equipment and expanded the SnowDogg line. As the equipment sales grew, Kevin and Scott made the decision to separate it from Pro Auto Repair NYA in 2016. Around this same time, Scott had expanded Rec-Tech Outdoors by manufacturing barges. With an increase in barge manufacturing business and the need for more space, Scott purchased and built the current location in Plato, MN where both Rec-Tech Outdoors and Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions reside today.

Shortly after the completion of the building, Scott began expanding Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions into lawn care equipment, becoming a Gravely/Ariens and BOB-CAT lawn mower dealer. With Kevin’s ability to fix anything, Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions began to offer small engine repair. Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions has become a certified dealer for Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kohler, Kawasaki, and Tecumseh so warranty repair work can be done at Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions for all small engine types.

In early 2019, Rich Pauly began to work at Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions as a sales associate. His wife, Christie, has been working with Kevin and Scott since 2012, so when there was a need for a full-time salesperson, Rich came aboard. Christie is Kevin’s sister and Scott’s aunt so adding Rich expanded family involvement in the business. Rich has over 35 years of experience in customer service and was once a business owner himself, with his wife Christie. Rich’s management skills have kept Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions moving forward while assisting Scott with lake equipment and custom manufacturing sales as well as scheduling lake-side service and repairs for Rec-Tech Outdoors.

Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions carries a wide variety of LAWN EQUIPMENT from Exmark. As an authorized Exmark dealer, Rec-Tech Outdoor Solutions provides sales, financing, warranties and service for all Exmark equipment.

In 2021 the decision was made for Rec-Tech Outdoors to no longer do dock and boat lift installations. Rec-Tech Outdoors still provides dock sales, boat lift sales, custom dock manufacturing, barge manufacturing and other custom manufacturing services! Contact us today to see how we can help you.
